 State of South Carolina Sumter District

In the name of God Amen, I Henry Vaughan Junr. of the said district
being very weak in body but of perfect mind and  memory thanks be
given unto God, and calling to mind the mortality of my body and
knowing that it is appointed for all men  once to die do make and
ordain this my last will and testament that is to say, first of all I give
and recommend my soul into  the hands of almighty God that gave it
and my body I recommend to the earth to be burried in a decent
Christian burrial by  my executors nothing Doubting but at the general Resurrection I shall receive the same again by the mighty power of God
and Touching Such worldly estate wherewith it has pleased God to
bless me in this life, I give and dispose of the same in the  following
manner,

  First I give to my Wife Elizabeth Vaughan Four negroes, Viz, Sarrom
Sary Landy and Jude, With all my stock of horses  Cattle, Hogs, and
Household Furniture and the remainder of my Estate which is not
willed. I lend to my Wife Elizabeth  Vaughan During her life I give to
my son William Vaughan one negro boy named Simon, I give to my
son Henry Vaughan  one negro boy named Sandy I give to my son
John Vaughans children two negroes, Viz, Handy and Jenny to be
equally  devided amongst, I give to my Daughter Elizabeth Dubose two
negroes, Viz. Tom and Molly I give to my daughter, Frances  Reynolds
one negroe boy named Jacob, I give to my son Vicent Vaughan, one
negroe man named Sam and all the land lying  in the east side of
Green Swamp Being part of that tract of land whereon I now live, also
one hundred and seventy nine acres  it being a plat of that number of
acres, Joining William Abboth, Joseph Whites and land before mentioned
on the east side of  Green Swamp, I give to my Grand son Richard
Vaughan, one negroe boy names Semone and one horse saddle and
bridle  and the land lying on the West side of Green Swamp being part
of that tract of land in the east side before mentioned, in  Green Swamp
But my wife Elizabeth Vaughan to have it during her life, but If my
Grand Richard Vaughan should die before  he has a lawfull child, the
property which I leave him shall return to my estate again------------

  I also appoint my Wife Elizabeth Vaughan Executrix with William
Vaughan and Vincent Vaughan Executors to this my last  Will and
Testament and I do hereby disannul all other former Testaments, Wills Legacies, Bequeaths, and Executors by me  in any wise before named confirming this and no other to be my last Will and Testament-- in
witnefs whereof I have set my  hand and seal this Eighteenth day of
December in the year of our Lord one Thousand eight hundred and  eight---------------------------
