Carrie was born in 1883 to Salona Mary Thomas Vaughan-Nix 1865-1946 and Joseph Farrier Vaughan 1863-1934 in Ozark, Christian Co., Missouri. Joseph Vaughans' parents were
James David Vaughan born 1781 Mecklenburg Virginia
and died 1869 in Ozark, Christian Co. MO. His second wife was
Elizabeth Davis Vaughan born 1824 in Mecklenburg Virginia
and died 1892 in Ozark Christian Co., Missouri
