Mrs. Hal Smith was called to Salt Lick, Ky. by the death of her brother, Mr.
Willie Vaughn, 76. Mr. Vaughn was a grandson of General Leslie Combs,
of Lexington, and the grewat nephew of Henry Clay, of Lexington. Mr.
Vaughnn is survived by his wife, Mrs. Siota Shouse Vaughn; one son Clever
Vaughn, of Cincinnati, Ohio ; one brother, B. O. Vaughn, of Lexington,
and one sister, Mrs. Hal Smith, of Irvine. Mrs. Smith will leave today to
visit her brother, Mr. B. O. Vaughn, who is in a serious condition suffering
from heart trouble and the shock of his brother's death. Mrs. Smith has the
sympathy of all her friends. Mr. Willie Vaughn was born in Frankfort,
reared and went to school in Fayette county and Franklin county. Mr.
Vaughn was first cousin of C. M. Bridgeford, of Frankfort.
