Grady H. Vaughn

NOTE from Beverly: The information below is from a collection, by one person, that was
donated to the library.  The obituaries were clipped from the newspapers, Houston TX area,
and pasted on index cards that list the name and date of death.  Names of the papers are not
included on the cards.  Birth years are all estimated for identification only and are in ( ).

---Vaughn, Grady H.,65, Dallas Texas   Novemver, 1955---
DALLAS- Grady H. Vaughn, 65, wealthy oilman with holdings in 14
states died Tuesday after an illness of several months.

        Vaughn, 65, head of the G.H. Vaughn Production Co. and the
Dixi Drilling Co was also associated with the Dallas National Bank and
the Great National Life Insurance Co.

        Born in Wilton Ark., Jan 2, 1890, he began his career in the oil
business with the Texas Co. and later joined the Gulf Refining Co.
During the second World War, Vaughn was co-ordinator of Petroleum Administration for Defense Distric 3.

        A cerebral hemmorrage left him paralyzed and unable to walk in
1947, but through determination he became able to walk with the aid
of two heavy canes.  He operated his business until several months ago.

        Vaughn was the donor of a physical medicine and rehabilitation
center at Baylor Hospital here.
