Allie Vaughn Coffey

COFFEY, ALLIE VAUGHN - age 96, of Corryton, passed away July
14, 1999. She was a devoted member of Clear Branch Baptist Church.
Retired school teacher, having taught in Hawkins, Grainger and Union Counties before coming to Knox County. Her last 24 years she taught
at Corryton Elementary.

She retired in 1970 after 40 years service. Preceded in death by husband
of 12 years, Rev. Joe G. Coffey; parents, Wiley and Laura Vaughn; sister,
Lillie Bassette; brothers, Charles T. and William Vaughn. Survivors:
nieces, Charline Hess and Doris Aline Coffey, both of Knoxville, Laura
Katherine Gibson and Martha Bush, both of Alabama; nephews, William Vaughn of Alabama and Wayne Bassette Jr. Of Murfreesboro; step-
children, Kenneth C. Coffey of Bean Station, William Coffey of Keego
Harbor, MI, Margaret Proctor of Nashville and Horace Coffey of
Knoxville;  step-grandchildren, Brian Coffey of Knoxville, David Proctor
of Alabama, Rachael Coffey of Antioch, TN, Dianne and Joey Coffey of
Keego Harbor, MI; and a host of loyal friends and neighbors. Funeral
service 8:00 p.m.  Friday Mynatt's Chapel. Rev. Charlie Tindell,  Rev.
Herman Lakin officiating. Family and friends will meet at Mynatt's by
10:30 a.m. Saturday  and proceed to Clear Branch Cemetery for
interment at 11:00 a.m. Pallbearers: Terry Hill, David Majors, Monty
Corum, Kevin Sexton, James Meltabarger and Terry Johnson. In lieu
of flowers memorials may be made to Clear Branch Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m.
