Benjamin R. Vaughan and Sallie Vaughan were members of Bold Springs Methodist
Church in Franklin County. Benjamin Vaughan was Justice of the Peace in Habersham
County during the 1820's. I think this is the Benjamin Vaughan, son of George Vaughan
and brother of John Vaughan, my Great-great-great-Grandfather.
On March 6, 1817 Habersham records show that John Purcel sold to Jacob Currey 70
acres that originally was granted to George Vaughan on North Fork of Broad River.

(174) Thomas Loyd Sr. to John Vaughan deed 22 July, 1825 captioned Hancock County
to Lot 60 of 4th District.

Book D-1826-1827/Habersham Co.
(16) Benjamin Vaughan to Elijah Clark(General during the Revolutionary War and for
whom Clarksville is named for) both of Habersham Co. Ga. deed 15,Feb., 1826 to part of
lot in Clarksville adjacent Branch, Cleveland, and Major Wyly lot and Warters St.
Enoch Brady of Habersham Co. to Thomas Davis of Franklin Co. deed 19,Aug. 1826 to 41.5
acres bounded on the North by Hezekial Stephens and all other sides by unknown lands and
granted under warrant dated 5 July, 1824 and granted 2 June 1825 in my own name.
Witness: Russell Davis, George Vaughan.
Probated 17 August 1826 before Benjamin Vaughan.
Benjamin Vaughan was named as the 'Constable' in a lawsuit of
Dudley Jones vs. Nathaniel Wofford on May 12, 1819.
