      A note from Mary Gregg:  I have not researched this family myself, but among my
      correspondents there have been a number of people who have researched it thoroughly
      and I am using their information, plus some of my own interpretations, to make this
      summary.  These correspondents include Felicia Gourdin, Bettye Gwaltney, Avie
      Vaughan and Miles Vaughan.

      1.  Littleberry Vaughan (perhaps born ca 1784 since he
           was a participant in the Georgia Land Lottery of 1805
           and would have had to be at least 21 to be eligible; died
           after 1840, perhaps in Mississippi), son of Hundley
           Vaughan (?Jr.), married ca 1808 in Georgia, Sarah
           Strickland, daughter of Jacob Strickland and Priscilla
           Young.  Littleberry and Sarah were in McNairy County,
           Tennessee, in 1830, and in Pontotoc County, Mississippi
           Their children whose names are known to me were:

                2. Asa Fleming or Flemon Vaughan (born in Georgia
                ca 1809; died in Lee County, Mississippi in 1887)
                married Katherine (?Gideon) (living in 1880).
                Like his parents, Asa F. Vaughan lived in McNairy
                County, Tennessee, before settling in Pontotoc
                County, Mississippi.

                Known children of Asa Fleming and Katherine
                (?Gideon) Vaughan, were:

                8.  Melkijah Derryberry Vaughan (born in 1829
                in Tennessee; died October 7, 1882 at Shannon,
                Lee County, Mississippi) married, in Pontotoc
                County, Mississippi, March 4, 1856, Cenna  M.
                Jane Benson (born January 6, 1834 in Alabama;
                died January 21, 1900 at Shannon, Mississippi)
                9. Amanda Caroline Vaughan (born ca 1832 in
                Tennessee) married, December 2, 1850, Samuel
                B. Jobe.
                10. Melvina Taylor Vaughan (born January 22,
                1832 in Tennessee; died July 5, 1913 in Mullen,
                Texas) married, in Pontotoc County, Mississippi,
                October 3, 1848, Miles Malone Vaughan (born
                 December 17, 1826 in Mississippi; died January
                 23, 1906 at Mullen, Texas).
                11. Ebinezer Hern Vaughan (born ca 1835 in
                Mississippi; died in 1902 in Ellis County, Texas)
                married, March 4, 1856, in Pontotoc County,
                Mississippi,(?Philoden) Ann Bell.  Civil War soldier.
                12. Elizabeth Ann Vaughan (born ca 1836 in
                Mississippi) married, in Pontotoc County,
                Mississippi, March 4, 1856, William Benson.
                [Double wedding with Melkijah D. Vaughan and Cenna Benson.]
                13. Hiram Blanton Vaughan (born March 5, 1838;
                died November 10, 1914, probably in Wise County,
                Texas) married (1) July 25, 1861, Mahala H. Pettey,
                married (2) December 17, 1874 in Lafayette County,
                Mississippi, Harriet Elizabeth Robertson Beard
                (born ca 1838; living in Wise County Texas in 1914).  In the Civil
                War, Hiram B. served in Company I, 41st Infantry,
                Anderson's Brigade, Bragg's Division, Army of
                Tennessee, having enlisted in 1862 at Okolona,
                Mississippi.  He was wounded in the arm at
                Chickamauga, and was a prisoner of war, held
                at Camp Douglas Illinois.  He was a Civil War
                Pensioner in Texas.
                14. Nancy Riley Vaughan (born ca 1840 in
                Mississippi).  Perhaps did not marry.
                15. Susan Virginia Vaughan (born ca 1845 in
                Mississippi)
                married Robert Lauderdale
                16. Lewis Harmon Vaughan (born January 8, 1852 in
                Mississippi)
                married Nancy Jobe.

                3. (Dr.) Henry Blanton Vaughan (born in 1810,
                probably in Georgia or Alabama; died August 15,
                1875 in Wilson County, Tennessee) is said to have
                married (1) Jane Vaughan, daughter of William H.
                Vaughan of Monroe and Lafayette Counties,
                Mississippi.  Henry B. Vaughan
                married (2) in Wilson County, Tennessee, August 27,
                1839, Susan C. Vaughan (born ca 1822 in Alabama;
                living, in 1905, in Wilson County, Tennessee),
                daughter of Edmund W. Vaughan and Eliza Graham.
                By his first wife, Henry Blanton Vaughan had
                one child:

                17.  Walton H. Vaughan (born in Mississippi ca
                1836; living in 1905, perhaps in Comanche
                County, Texas).

                Children of Henry Blanton and Susan C.(Vaughan)
                Vaughan were:

                          18.  John T. Vaughan (born ca 1840; living
                          in 1905)
                          19.  Edmund B. Vaughan (born ca 1842; died
                          before 1905)
                          20.  James W. Vaughan (October 15, 1847 -
                          July 19, 1903).  According to J. T. Acklen's
                          Tombstone Inscriptions and Manuscripts, he
                          is buried in a cemetery on LaGuardo Road
                          in the 4th Civil District of Wilson County,
                          Tennessee.
                          21.  Eliza G. Vaughan (December 28, 1850  -
                          April 5, 1888)
                          married, in 1869,  J. K. Wright (born October
                          24, 1847 in Sumner County, Tennessee), son
                          of William and Margaret J. Wright.  She is
                          buried in the above mentioned cemetery.
                          22.  Jordan Stokes Vaughan (November 18,
                          1853 - August 8, 1886).  Buried in the same
                          cemetery as James W. and Eliza G.
                          23.  William Hundley Vaughan (born ca 1855;
                          died 1905, and buried in Little Hope Cemetery
                          in Montgomery County, Tennessee)
                          married Hallie King of Christian County,
                          Kentucky, who survived him.  He was a Baptist
                          minister.
                          24.  Sarah A. Vaughan (born ca 1859; living
                          in 1905)
                          25.  Henry Vaughan (born ca 1862)
                          married Tabitha Oldham

                4. Priscilla Tarner or Tamer Vaughan (born December
                12, 1813; died January 1872)
                married, April 9, 1835, Reading or Redding B. Johnson
                (born ca 1810 in North Carolina) and had the following
                 children at home at the time of the 1860 census:

                          Johnson who married, December 29, 1867,
                          Amazoula Coates
                          34.  John M. Johnson (1862)
                          married, December 13, 1883, Eliza M. Yancy
                          35.  Anabell Johnson (1855)
                          36.  Henry A. Johnson (1859)

                5.  Nancy R. Vaughan (born May 13, 1819; died February
                20, 1889 at Shannon,Lee County, Mississippi) OR (born
                December 20, 1815; died December 13, 1880 in Texas)
                married (1) in Hardeman County, Tennessee, April 8,
                1831, Hiram Scott; perhaps
                married (2) Jonas D. Baker.
                Known children of Nancy R. Vaughan are:

                          37. Hiram Scott (He may be a stepson of Nancy
                          (Vaughan) (Scott) Baker; he is in her home in
                          1850, but his age is given as 21.  If that is correct,
                          then he almost certainly isn't Nancy's child, but a
                          child of Hiram Scott by an earlier marriage.)
                          38. Henry Blanton Scott (born ca 1840 in Mississippi)
                          married, in Navarro County, Texas, Sarah C. White.
                          39. Pancelia Scott
                          married _______ Troyier
