Cary McCracken Vaughan
b. 1794 d. 1887 aged 98 years. w/o John; "A tribute of
affection by
Dr. W. B. Vaughan to his grandmother." John and Cary's children
included George Washington Vaughan, Jasper Vaughan and Newton
Vaughan, all of whom were killed in the Civil War, Jasper at
Gaines
Mill. Jasper and Newton were twins. Their brother John W. Vaughan
survived the war. Another brother, James Lafayette, was too young
to
fight. A grave in the fourth row, next to the woods when facing
the
entrance, may be that of David A. Vaughan, son of John W.
