      This letter was written by Elizabeth "Vaughan" Bowen to her twin brother Beverly Vaughan,
      they were born October 15, 1812 in VA. At the time this letter was written Elizabeth was living
      in either Pilot Mt., Surry Co. NC or Rural Hall, Forsyth Co. NC. Beverly, his family and brothers, John and Winkfield were living in Greene Co. MO. The spelling and punctuation are exactly as
      the original letter.
      Pilot Mountain, NC
      March 23, 1889

      Dear Brother,
      I seat myself this beautiful morning to write you a few lines to let
      you know that I am well at this time, hoping when these few lines
      comes to hand may find you well and doing well.

      Brother Beverly I want you to send your wife name an your
      children names. Brother I and you will be 75 years old in October,
      I will send you my type too. Brother Beverly I want you all to see
      it. Brother John and brother Winkfield I want you all to remember
      me this type with your sister, your brother Sephen (or Sefrhen) girl
      her name is Salley.

      Brother Ledford is ded.

      Sister Nancy is ded.

      This is from your sister Lizbeth Bowen. Aunt Lizbeth wrote these
      few lines to me to write to you.

      I write you a few lines for the first time I married uncle Ledford
      girl. Her name is Mary Ann, I found where you was live at by
      uncle Sephen (or Sefrhen) Chandler. Write to me uncle Beverly.
      I want you to write to me uncle John and uncle Winkfield. Tell
      at hem to write to me.  Uncle Ledford died last November the 15th.
      He was 84 years 3 months and a few days old.

      I have 5 children, 3 girls and 2 boys. I want you to write to me as
      soon as you get this and let me hear from you all. Mary Ann wanted
      to remember her when you get this. Don't forget to write the next
      time I write to you I will write more.

      So I will come to a close by saying write soon and find these few
      lines is from James H. Moore to uncle Beverly Vaughan.
