Description: the first being on south side of main Blackwater Swamp, the second on the north side of Seacock Swamp adjoining CHARLES SAVADGE and RICHARD WALLS, the third is 115 acres being half of tract granted to CHARLES BRIGGS, dec'd and by him divided between said BRIGGS and JOHN FORD. Note: Margaret Harris was first the wife of Edward Taylor d 1708 Surry Co whose estate was brought to court by Margaret Taylor and witnessed by Wm. Gray, Timothy Thropp [Thorp?], Wm. Harris. After his death she m2 William Harris d 1721 Surry Co whose will reflects wife Margaret and members of the Taylor and Gray families. From these records, we can see that James Vaughan's wife was Mary Taylor, daughter of Edward Taylor and Margaret. He was not James Vaughan d 1750 whose wife was Rutha; and he was not James Vaughan d 1735 whose wife's name was Anne.

 

Note: The above series of documents show that William Harris and his wife Margaret had, among others, daughters Margaret who married Bartlett Moreland and Mary who married James Vaughan. After Bartlett Moreland died, James Vaughan married Margaret, widow of Bartlett Moreland.
