Nov 1829 decree, Mar 1830 report & Aug 1830. James Harcum & Tempty his wife and Patsey Vaughan, minor by Meredith Holland, her gdn. and next friend. Henry Vaughan died. His widow Tempy m. James Harcum. He left five children (named) all of whom are still minors. The widow is in possession of the balance of the estate: 120 or 130 acres and slaves. Prior guardianship of children vacated. Disputes settled by consent of the parties. Order to sell land and slaves and divide proceeds. Commissioners appointed and they filed a Return of Sale on 26 Dec 1829 with details of sale and distribution of proceeds.

Seamore Vaughan d. in Aug 1831 entitled to two slaves and an undivided 1/4 part of a 75 acre tract of land after the death of his mother Elizabeth Edwards. Matthew W. Vaughan was admr. Matthew Vaughan, Thomas Vaughan and Mary Cobb are brothers and sister of the whole blood. Nancy Edwards, Elizabeth Gardner & Charlotte Joyner are sisters of the half blood. Anthony Vaughan, Catharine Vaughan, Jane Joyner are children of Shadrack Vaughan, brother of the half blood. Hillary Vaughan, James Vaughan, Margaret Vaughan, Emily Vaughan, & Martha Cobb are the children of Henry Vaughan, brother of the half blood. Feb 1832 decree. Report of sale 17 Sep 1832. The slaves sold for $306.25; and the land sold for $6.00. Thomas Vaughan was the purchaser. [Note: The siblings of the whole blood are the younger children of Seymore Vaughan by his last wife Elizabeth Wells. The children of the half blood are the older children of Seymore Vaughan by one or more prior wives.]
