He owned land near descendants of Nicholas Vaughan. Accordingly, he is most likely a member of the Orange DNA Group. Isham Vaughan, the Elder, Continued. In 1750 he acquired 630 acres on Winingham's Cr., a fork of Deep Cr. He sold off 30 acres and kept the rest for many years. He paid land taxes through 1768. In 1770, he gave 200 acres to his son Frederick (VA Amelia DB 11.149); and he sold 200 acres to John Tabb (VA Amelia

DB 11.212). In 1777, he sold the last 200 acres to William May Porter and James May Porter (VA Amelia DB 14.121.) From Tax digests, we know he had a son Frederick b. abt. 1750. In 1773, he sold 200 acres to his apparent son Nicholas (VA Amelia DB 12.122). In 1773, a Nicholas Vaughan sold one of the 200 acre tracts to William May Porter and James May Porter (VA Amelia DB 12.243).

Isham Vaughan, the Younger does not show up in deed records until 1767. He does appear in quite a few tithables lists starting in 1748, when he would have been 23 years old. . His known sons are David b. abt. 1749; Randolph b. abt. 1751-1752; and Daniel & Robert b. abt. 1754. He acquired 128 acres in 1767 by deed. Prior to 1782, he acquired another 55 acres (no deed on record) bringing his land to 183 acres. His land was cut into Nottoway Co. when it was formed. He gave 133 acres to his son Daniel in 1791 (VA Nottoway DB 01.140). In 1795, his son David Vaughan sold the remaining 50 acres (VA Nottoway DB 01.492). There is no deed on record from him to his son David. Daniel d. about 1831 in Nottoway Co. David last appears there in a deed in 1803. His son Randolph is confirmed to be a member of the CYan DNA Group.
