      Jane Hughes Vaughn
      of Missouri

      Samuel C. Vaughn was born in Kentucky on August 20, 1813.
      He left Kentucky in 1826 and went to Illinois, afterward coming
      to Missouri. He died December 4, 1877.  Samuel married Jane
      Hughes April 27, 1843 in what was then Osage Co, Missouri.
      Miss Hughes was born in Missouri February 7, 1826 and died
      Jan 11, 1902. Both Samuel and Jane Vaughn died in Hickory
      Co, Missouri.

      Their children are as follows:

      John C. Vaughn died October 4, 1864 - single- in the Union
      Army (may have been in Vaughn's guerillas - they are well known in this area -*Carmen)

      Alexander S. Vaughn was born February 27, 1848 in Osage
      Co., Missouri  m.(1) Mary E. Boone, April 17, 1870 in Polk Co,
      Missouri.

      They have a family of six boys and two girls.

      Annie E. Vaughn
      m.W.T. Palmer, January 1, 1891;
      They have 2 sons and 2
      daughters.

      George W. Vaughn
      m.Rosa Lee Remngton October 18, 1895;
      They have one daughter.  He has taught school several years
      and has been manager of the Akins Store at Humansville. He
      is now a stockholder in the department store at that place.

      S.J. Vaughn
      m.Rosa Perry of Springfield, Missouri December 31, 1900.
      They have one son.  He has taught school for several years and
      is now a teacher in the high school at Springfield, Missouri.

      John C Vaughn
      m.Mattie Reese October 23, 1901.
      They have one son and one daughter and reside in New
      Mexico.

      W. H. Vaughn
      m.Mabel Creed September 6, 1903. They have one daughter.
      He is teaching in the public schools.

      Andrew S. Vaughn died when about 1 year old

      Charles O. Vaughn was a teacher and a farmer.

      Elsie J.Vaughn youngest child, single, at home

      Lucretia Vaughn
      m.John P. Chaney
      They have one daughter.

      Nancy E. Vaughn
      m.David E. Skaggs.

      James Vaughn
      m.Atha Tillery;
      They have one son and one daughter

      Willam H. Vaughn
      m.Fannie C. Williams;
      They have 5 sons and one daughter

      Sherman C. S. Vaughn
      m.Maggie Williams;
      They have 3 sons and 2 daughters

      George W. Vaughn died when about 2 years old

      Mahala Vaughn also died in infancy.
