Taken from the Bellbrook (OH) Moon, February
1893
Harrison Vaughan, son of ______Vaughan, was born
and
raised on the farm where Perry Weller lives, three
miles south-
west of Bellbrook. He learned the carpenter trade
and went to
Portsmouth and worked one year, then re-turned
to Bellbrook
which was in about the year 1833. He followed his
trade here
and in the fall of 1836 he married Charlotte Snowden,
who
was born July 30, 1812 and died of consumption,
Apr. 29,
1843. He bought the lot and built the house where
David
Hopkins now lives.
He married a Miss Wilson for his second wife who
lived a
mile and a half south of Mr. Holly.
He lived in Bellbrook until about the year 1853
when he sold
his house to the M. E. Church for a parsonage and
moved to
Dayton and bought a lot on Wayne St. and improved
it, and
there died about three years ago, where his widow
still lives."
