Biography
      Christopher C. Vaughan
      of Virginia

      There came from Petersburg, Virginia about 1883 a young
      man named Christopher Columbus Vaughan. He came among
      strangers, by indomitable courage and pluck won for himself
      a large measure of sucess. He was a merchant, farmer, sawyer,
      blacksmith, mechanic, undertaker (during the hearse and
      horse days) Postmaster (King and Queen Co.) wrote a weekly
      news article for "Southside Sentinel" active in civil affairs
      and also posessed a guest house for traveling salesmen in
      the twentieth century.

      Christopher Columbus Vaughanlate of Petersburg, VA
      married Alma Ruth Carlton ("Allie") daughter of Alfred
      Carlton and spouse u/k of King and Queen County.

      Christopher C. Vaughan and "ALLIE" had two daughters
      and three sons.

      I submit their names as follows:

      Pearl Vaughan married Andry Childrey of Richmond, VA.
      Ruby Vaughan married Edward Wallace of Baltimore, MD.
      Earnest Linwood Vaughan ("Bullie") married Edith Watkins
          of Cumnor, VA.
      Dr. Chris Vaughan married (?) of Richmond, VA
      Alfred Vaughan married Jumelle Drake of Shackleford, VA.

      Christopher C. and spouse Alma Ruth (nee Carlton) are
      buried  at "Mattaponi Baptist Church Cemetery" Cumnor,
      VA.;

      Earnest or (Larnest) Linwood Vaughan, Alfred Vaughan,
      Junelle Drake Vaughan, are buried at "Porkpione Baptist
      Chruch" of Shackleford, VA; (near Westpoint, Virginia)

      Pearl Vaughan Childry is buried in Richmond, VA. and Dr.
      Chris Vaughan is buried in Richmond, VA.;

      Ruby Vaughan WAllace is believed to have been buried in (?)
      Florida, as she and her husband retired there.

      There are family markers at the "Mattaponia Cemetery" so
      named after the "Mattaponia Iindian Tribe, Reservation, and
      Baptist Church."
